About: What started as a small gathering of friends behind Chicago’s Museum of Science & Industry in 1990 is now one of the world’s longest-running events dedicated to House Music, attracting more than 40,000 fans each year. The family-reunion-style event features 12 hours of music and performances from the Chosen Few DJs – Wayne Williams, Jesse Saunders, Tony Hatchett, Alan King, Andre Hatchett, Terry Hunter and Mike Dunn, plus guest DJs and vocalists. Q: How much does admission to the festival cost?

A: Advance Sale GA tickets are $40 (plus fee); $50 at the gate the day of the event. BUY TICKETS HERE (starting 10am CST 2/28).

NOTE: General Admission tickets are $50 at the gate this year. Buy online to save $$$


Q: Are tickets still available? I don’t see GA tickets on your page; how do I buy them?

A: We promise, they’re there! Just click on the red dot in the green box at the top of the map at the top of the page (starting 10am CST 2/28).


Q: Is there a charge for children?

A: Admission for children 12 and under is free.


Q: Why would I purchase tickets online?

A: To save time in line, and money! Only advance ticket holders may use the express entry gates.

Plus, the at-the-gate price is $50 this year.

Q: What are your parking, tent space and VIP options?

A: Full descriptions of all of our preferred parking, tent spaces VIP experiences are available on our 2019 ticketing page. 


Q: How can I select my tent space?

A: Just click on available space on the ticketing map, and pick the space(s) you want. When you arrive on-site, your space will be reserved just for you and your group.


Q: I want a reserved tent space, but don’t want to bring my own tent – what are my options?

A: You can purchase a House and/or Underground “with tent” package that includes a white, 10 x 10 tent canopy. No need to pitch your own!


Q: Can I still bring my own tent into a reserved tent space?

A: Yes! Back by popular demand are House and/or Underground reserved spaces “without tent”, so you can bring your own. IMPORTANT: your tent can be no longer or wider than your 10 x 10 space, so be sure to check your tent’s dimensions before bringing it.


Q: Can I get my preferred tent space next to my friend’s space?

A: Only tent spaces that were purchased in the same order can be grouped together (provided bordering spaces are available) and must be claimed at the same time by the party who purchased them.


Q: I want the total VIP experience–reserved parking, complimentary food and beverages, air-conditioned bathrooms, proximity to the stage, yet still in the middle of the action. What are my options?

A: Then VIP passes are just the tickets for you. Visit the 2019 ticketing page for details.


Q: If I purchase a reserved tent package or VIP pass, do I have to wait in line at the festival?

A: Nope! There will be special entry gates on the east and west sides of the park for reserved tent packages, VIP pass-holders, just show your tickets that were emailed to you at those gates, and you’ll be on your way.


Q: I purchased preferred parking; how can I get my pass(es)?

A: Your parking pass(es) were emailed to you when you purchased your package(s). If you haven’t received your ticket/parking pass email, please contact our customer service team at help@seetickets.us or 323-908-0607 (M-F, 8a-7p Pacific time).


Q: Can I set up my tent or drop off my stuff on Friday, July 5?

A: YES, only if you have purchased either a House or Underground package. You will receive a load-in schedule by email about a week before the event.

Q: If I don’t buy a tent space in the reserved tent area near the dance floor, can I still put up a tent?

A: Of course! Those who do not purchase tent space are free to set up in the areas behind the preferred tent area on a first-come, first-served basis.


Q: Where can I put my tent?

A:  If you have not purchased space in the reserved tent area, you are welcome to set up in any unoccupied, non-marked area outside of the reserved tent space on a first-come, first-served basis.


Q: How will I know where I can set up?

A: The reserved tent area will be clearly marked. All other tents and set-ups can do so in an unoccupied area outside of that space.


Q: What if I don’t bring a tent—where can I set up?

A: Anywhere you can find a space, outside of the designated reserved tent area, dance “floor” and other marked areas.


Q: Can I rope off my tent area?

A: No! It’s a safety hazard.


Q: Can I rent or have set up a commercial-sized tent or structure?

A: No ginormous tents or other structures are allowed on festival grounds, nor can guest have tent rental companies deliver and/or set up very large (larger than 10 x 20) tents/structures. There also is no tent delivery or set-up allowed before Saturday in the non-reserved areas. This is a party for all, and we want to be sure there is space for all!


Q: Can I leave and re-enter the festival?

A: No, there will be no re-entry for General Admission ticketholders after the morning load-in time, which is 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.


Q: Where and how can I drop off my stuff and/or load it in?

A:  Load-in time: 7a-10a

If you leave the festival gates after 10 am on Saturday, you must pay to re-enter the event.



NOTE: The Chosen Few DJs Music Festival attracts more than 40,000 to a lakefront park that has extremely limited parking options. If possible, consider taking public transportation, carpooling and/or using car/taxi service to get to the picnic. There are several bus lines that run near the park; check with the Chicago Transit Authority for details.


Q: Where can I park?

A: If you purchased House or Disco packages, or VIP passes (2 ticket option only), you may park in the lot specified for your package or pass – Hayes Drive, Cornell Drive, or 63rd Street Beach. To ensure that we can accommodate who purchased parking passes in the premium lots, all vehicles must arrive in those lots no later than 11 AM. No in/out.

If you purchased space in one of the remote lots (Museum or 47th St.), you may park in the lot you purchased. Continuous shuttle service will run throughout the event.


Q: Where are the remote lots?

A: The Museum of Science & Industry East lot is located at 1857 Columbia Drive; enter at Lake Shore Drive and Science Drive. The other lot is located on the corner of 47th Street and Cornell Drive.


Q: How much does remote parking cost?

A: In previous years, remote parking was $30 per car, first come, first served. No in/out. Details for 2019 off-site parking will be posted in the spring.


Q: What is the shuttle schedule to/from the remote lots?

A: To be announced in the spring.


Q: What are the shuttle pick up/drop off points?

A: Shuttle buses will depart every few minutes from the entrance of each parking lot, and drop off at the East Gate on Hayes Drive.


Q: I didn’t purchase parking space; where else is there to park?

A: There may be street parking near Jackson Park, subject to all rules and policies of the City of Chicago.


Q: I’m taking a rideshare or taxi to the Picnic; where is pick up/drop off?

A: The official pick up/drop off area for rideshares and taxis is located between 62nd and 64th and Stony Island on both sides of the street



Q: Can I bring in my own food and drinks?

A: Yes, though no glass containers are allowed on festival grounds. No propane tanks or generators, either.


Q: I don’t want to bother with a big set-up this year; can I buy food and beverages at the event?

A: Yes. Authorized vendors will be on hand selling food and beverages.


Q: Can I sell food or beverages to others at the event?

A: No. There is no selling or other commercial activity allowed on festival grounds other than our authorized vendors and sponsors. Guests engaging in unauthorized and/or unlawful activity will be removed from festival grounds.


Q: Grills, grills, grills – how big can I go with my grill(s) and tents?

A: While we welcome you and your Weber or whatever, there is no room for commercial/industrial-size grills in the park. Also, no propane, kerosene or other gas grills are allowed.



Q: I want to sell my goods at the festival, and/or distribute materials about my company, organization, church or program; can I be a vendor and/or sell in my tent?

A: Only authorized vendors are permitted to sell merchandise/goods and/or distribute materials at the festival. All other commercial activity will be shut down, and unauthorized vendors/sellers will be escorted from festival grounds. Vendors participate by invitation only.



Q: Can I bring my kids?

A: Absolutely; the Chosen Few DJs Festival loves the kids! Please note: Parents/guardians are responsible for their children at all times; there is no babysitting service or kids’ zone at the event.


Q:  What hotels do you recommend for out-of-town guests?

Q: I’m ready to party the whole week – what are my options?

A: We’ve got a slew of parties and special events planned for our guests, including our monthly Hot Lunch Mix on Daley Plaza on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, and Chosen Few DJs Night at the Chicago White Sox on Friday, June 28, 2019. We’ll also have day and night parties at venues around Chicago, and will be posting more details about them all in the spring.


  • Your best/flyest African gear, or Black Panther-themed fashion – yep, we’re STILL celebrating our African, African-American history, and of course, WAKANDA FOREVER!
  • Comfy shoes for walking and dancing
  • Lawn chairs, tents (no bigger than 10 x2 20), lean-tos, blankets, tables, coolers
  • Food and beverages, (or, you can leave the cooking and mixing up to our on-site food and beverage vendors)
  • Sunscreen, hats, fans, towels, etc.
  • Water, ice, and plenty of it. It’s July in Chicago!
  • Just-in-case toilet paper (the Scout Motto lives on)
  • Extra batteries and/or wireless chargers for your mobile devices (you’ll be taking lots of photos and videos)
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Positive attitude, patience, and a smile



  • Glass bottles or glass objects
  • Gas grills, gas and/or propane or kerosene tanks
  • Kegs
  • Illegal substances
  • Fireworks
  • Firearms
  • Animals (service animals are permitted)
  • Drones
  • Cigars and cigs (no smoking on park grounds)
