Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Andre Hatchett was a music lover from the start.  Growing up in a household where all types of music was listened to, from Gospel to R&B to Rock, Andre began experimenting with doing pause button edits on a casette tape recorder back in the 1970′s.  His mother has said that he has always been fascinated with the record player itself, to the point where on his parents bowling league on Saturday nights at the old Starlight Bowling Alley, the late Miller Green gave Andre his 1st gig.  LOL.  Just in his early teens, there he was spinning for his parents’ friends at the bowling alley!  Andre played on that tape recorder until older brother Tony introduced him to a mixer and two turntables, and the rest is house music history!   Andre’s blending of records was like breathing, it just came naturally.

Now known by many as “the legendary Andre Hatchett,” Andre has DJ’d all over the City of Chicago and has worked with the country’s top DJs, including filling in for the late Ron Hardy and working with Frankie Knuckles.  Andre joined The Chosen Few in 1982, when the popular DJ crew his brother Tony was a part of took their chance on Andre.  It has worked ever since.  Andre remains one of the top DJs in Chicago and can be heard at various clubs and parties around the city, including on monthly Wednesdays at The Dating Game on 89th & Stony Island.   Check him out on Facebook, and for bookings call 773-771-4379.
